It has been a couple months since the Spring One Room Challenge™ and I am feeling nostalgic about my first ORC experience! So I decided to take you all on a walk down “memory lane” and share with ya’ll my favorite room reveals from April’s ORC! If you have never heard of the One Room Challenge™ before it is a challenge to makeover a room from start to finish in just SIX WEEKS! Yes you heard me, just six weeks! If you are new to the blog you can take a look back at our ORC journey…
- ORC Week 1: Before/Inspiration Board
- ORC Week 2: Paint Colors
- ORC Week 3: Cabinet Hardware
- ORC Week 4: Laundry Co. Sign Tutorial
- ORC Week 5: Installing Cabinets & Butcher Block
- ORC Week 6: Final Reveal
One of the best parts of the ORC was getting to know other bloggers as we participated in the challenge together! It was so fun sharing our struggles and wins with one another and having real friendships grow out of it! So without further delay, here are my top 5 favorite room reveals!

Shannon and her husband Dean did such an AMAZING job redoing their kitchen in that short of a time span! Truly such an incredible job! I love so so much about this space, the walnut butcher block countertops, shiplap on the island and behind the open shelving, and that gorgeous show-stopper range hood cover! I have always loved open shelving in kitchens especially when they are stocked with white dishes. There is something so pretty yet casual about open shelving that just speaks to me. Kim’s entire home is so bright and airy! I love all the white in her home, but I’m especially in love with the pops of blue all throughout. Her office/workspace is no exception! Indigo is a growing design trend and for good reason, it is beautiful, and I love that Kim embraced it in this space. Another trend that is on the rise is brass! Brass is back people, and increasing in popularity! Kim’s use of brass accents really adds warmth to the room which helps balance out the blue. My favorite elements in her offices are the sliding barn door, the board and batten, and that gorgeous brass light fixture! Visit Kim Power Style for the full room reveal and source list.
Sara, from Twelve on Main‘s bedroom truly is the ultimate farmhouse master bedroom! There is so much to love about this room! A few of my favorites are the faux beams, the board and batten, the shiplap faux fireplace surround, and all the lovely built-ins. My master bedroom is seriously lacking in appeal, but this space looks like a total oasis! I am definitely feeling inspired to spend some time sprucing up our master bedroom after seeing this. For more details and a complete source list go to Twelve on Main.
This farmhouse style powder bath by Kristi at Making it in the Mountains is just stunning! I love the warmth of the wood vanity to offset all the white! The shiplap half way up the wall is such a fun feature that adds a lot of character to the small space. We cannot talk about this room without talking about those gorgeous marble hex floors! White marble is so classic and timeless in a bathroom, you really can’t go wrong with it! Head on over to Making it in the Mountains to read more about this transformation.
My final favorite is this master bathroom by Bre at Brepurposed! If you love a modern look with a little boho vibe this bathroom is to die for! The cedar plank bathtub surround is just lovely, as well as all the brass fixtures. And can we stop for a second and talk about that vanity! It’s such a statement piece and best of all, it was a total Craigslist score! This en suite is what dreams are made of people! For more details and sources visit Brepurposed.
