Favorite Family Devotionals
We love spending time every morning at the breakfast table reading a family devotional together. Here are a few of our favorite devotionals: one for learning the catechism Q&As, a few about the names of God (one is geared more towards younger children), and several other great gospel-centered daily bible reading books!
Missions-Minded Teaching Resources
Something we are very passionate about (and a major reason why we chose to homeschool), is teaching our kids about God’s global mandate to take the gospel to the nations. One of the ways we try to teach our children to be missions-minded is by regularly spending time in prayer for the nations, learning about unreached people groups (UPGs) and reading missionary biographies. Here are a few of our favorite missions-minded teaching resources!
Favorite Bible Books for Preschoolers
These are some great books that teach basic bible truths to your little ones. Even better, most of them are board books which is a win in my book (pun most definitely intended).
Favorite Bible Books for Ages 4 & Up
When your children are older, and can sit still a bit longer, here are a few of our favorites! These bible story picture books have some of the most gorgeous illustrations as well as solid gospel truths!
Favorite Music
One of the best ways we have found for memorizing scripture is through music! These catchy little songs make it fun and easy for children (even those who can’t read) to commit the Word of God and basic theological truths (catechism Q&As) to memory. My middle son was answering catechism questions as early as age two! We listen to them at home, in the car, and at mealtimes etc. The best part is, you will be memorizing scripture right along with them!
